Good News!
I asked Alison to marry me, and she said yes.
I’d have thought that, after three years of living with me, she’d know better. 
Mwahahahahahahaha!
The wedding is early summer 2005, either in conveniently-located Washington DC or breathtakingly-lovely coastal Maine.
The rings in the photo are placeholders, although I rather like them as the knotwork pattern matches my armband tattoo. Our engagement rings / wedding bands are being custom-made by this guy. We’re getting gimmel rings — wearing half of each ring while we’re engaged, and then joining them together to form the wedding bands.
Of course, assuming a couple of overworked grad students can actually plan a wedding is probably foolhardy. It might just wind up being a priest, our family and friends, and several kegs of wine in her parents’ front yard.
Not that that’s necessarily a BAD thing, mind . . .
