Official Photos Now Online!

September 22nd, 2005

It has taken a while, but we have finally gotten the photos accessible online.

Photos from the official photographer, Allison Perkel, are here:

http://www.pictage.com/

You will have to enter “mckeon” in the box on the left that says “Search for an Event” and then select us from the list. Once in the event site, you can browse through the photos. To make your lives easier, we put a number of photos illustrating the day in the “Highlights” folder. You might want to start with that.

If you are trying to find photos of yourself (or others), we’ve also copied all photos with guests into several folders indicating the family or friend group that they’re part of.

You can order prints of photos right from the site, but you’ll have to log in to do that.

Guest Photo Pool

September 9th, 2005

If you took photos at the Wedding Weekend, please add them to our group photo pool on flickr.

If you didn’t take photos, you can browse through those others have posted.

You will have to join Flickr to post, but it is free. This is the best (free) photo site that we know of. They don’t bug you with spam or try to get you to buy prints of photos. It’s mostly for displaying and sharing photos online. The catch is that if you have a free account, you are limited in the amount of uploading of photos you can do. Each month, you have a certain space limit, which means you can upload one really big photo or lots of little photos. So we suggest that you resize your photos to a small size before uploading them so you can put more up.

Vows and Readings

September 8th, 2005

We’ve had some friends ask for the text of our wedding vows and our readings — we didn’t include these in the program for reasons of space. They’re now available here: Wedding Vows, Emily Dickinson, Wendell Berry

Photo Previews

September 8th, 2005

Alison and Matt

Our wonderful friend (and photographer) Allie has posted some previews of our wedding photos on her LiveJournal: page 1, page 2. We’ll post a link to the full album once she has it up.

Thanks

September 8th, 2005

Thanks to everyone who came to our wedding! Things went remarkably smoothly, and Alison and I had a great time. Special thanks to our friends and family who helped with setup and tear-down, as well as the dozens of other organizational bits that we managed to miss until the last few days (cabin captains ahoy!).

Bangor Airport Directions

August 1st, 2005

Driving directions from Bangor Airport to Camden and Hope have been added on the “Driving Directions” page.

More registry

AirTrancertificate

Since we’ll still be living in different cities next year due to grad school, maybe the best thing for the “household” would be gift certificates from Airtran for us to fly back and forth between Boston and Atlanta.

Registries

July 1st, 2005

The best gift you can give us is to join us to celebrate the wedding over Labor Day weekend. We know it is a significant investment of time and money for most of you just to get there, and we appreciate that.

If you are feeling especially generous, here are some ideas to get you started. Sorry it has taken so long to get the registry information together! We have registered at the following 3 places. You can access each online from the link below, and order online, by phone, or go into a Target or Bed Bath and Beyond. If you do go in to a store, you might want to call ahead to see if the item you are interested in is in stock. Not all stores carry all products. Also, we are continuing to add items basically every week.

Bed Bath and Beyond
(the largest collection of stuff)
Target
(a smaller collection of stuff)
Amazon
(stuff not found elsewhere. Also, Matt is actually helping with the Amazon Wedding section as part of his internship this summer, so it would be a pity not to have our own registry there as a test case.)

Driving Directions

June 8th, 2005

Driving Directions for several routes have been added here. Please let us know if you’d like directions from anywhere else.

Carpool signup

May 30th, 2005

So, it would appear that many of our guests are planning to fly into Boston or Portland and drive up to Hope. Star had the nifty suggestion that we should post a signup sheet for those of you looking for others with whom to carpool. So, if you’re looking for a ride (or would like to share rental car) leave a reply to this post with your name, flight information, and contact info!

Miscellaneous Warnings

April 17th, 2005

(1) As mentioned on the Accommodations and Transportation pages, this part of Maine is a very popular tourist destination and the Windjammer Weekend festival is also on Labor Day Weekend. Book transportation and accommodations well ahead of time.

(2) Cellular phone coverage in the area is spotty. Most carriers have at least intermittent coverage in the larger towns on the coast, like Camden. However, the coverage in Lincolnville (where the ceremony is) and Hope (where the reception is) is very bad. The only national carrier that has service in the area is Verizon. We aren’t advocating Verizon but just making sure you know that if you have another carrier, be prepared to be without cell phone coverage. (Your cell phone may not tell you that you don’t - Cingular for example always claims that it does when I am there but in fact does not.)

(3) Weather in Maine in early September can be unpredictable. It could be very nice (seventies) but also could be chilly (fifties) and/or rainy. Either way, it wil get cold at night. Check the weather forecast before packing!

Registry Information Coming Soon

April 16th, 2005

The registry information will be posted in mid to late June. We apologize for the delay.
