Airports:
- Portland (PWM) 2 hour drive,
- Bangor (BGR) 1.5 hour drive,
Both of the above airports are served by several rental car companies. You could rent a car and drive the rest of the way to the Midcoast area. We encourage coordinating carpools: post here if you are seeking or offering a ride. In addition, you can connect to the Concord Trailways Maine Coastal bus route from both airports, although there are only 2 trips per day and the bus stop is not right at the airport. (See below) Another option for getting from those airports to the Midcoast area is Midcoast Limo which charges $60 one-way from Portland Airport and $20 for each additional person.

- Knox County Regional Airport (RKD) is only a 20-30 minute drive from Hope, but is tiny, served by only one airline: Colgan. Colgan partners with US Air and connects through Boston, bookings can be made here. (Roundtrips for Labor Day weekend from East Coast locations are currently around $400-500.)
There is one rental car company serving RKD (Budget) and a limousine/taxi service to area locations. If you plan to rent a car at RKD airport, it is best to do so well in advance.

Note: Air travel into Maine in the summer high season can often be expensive, especially if booked at the last minute.

- Your least expensive air travel option would be to fly into Boston, especially if you live somewhere serviced by Airtran. However, it is a 4 hour drive or slightly longer bus ride to Camden (See below) (and probably longer, due to the holiday weekend). As of May, fares to Portland or Bangor are only about $60-$70 more than Boston, and probably worth the extra cost. Another option for cheap flights, mainly for those served by Southwest, is Manchester, NH (MHT) (and they now fly to Boston!). It is basically the same driving time as from Boston, a little under 4 hours.

Train: Amtrak now goes to Portland, Maine from Boston, but that still leaves you about 2 hours from Hope. You could take the train and then transfer to the Coastal Bus route in Portland, but at that rate, you might as well just take the bus the whole way. (See below) Also note that the trains to Maine leave from Boston’s North Station, which is across town from South Station, where trains from all other parts of the US arrive.

Bus: Concord Trailways goes from downtown Boston and directly from Logan Airport to Camden in about 4 1/2 hours. There are about 2 trips per day.

Car: For those who choose to drive, here are directions from points South (Portland, Boston), points NW(Montreal), and any other points you ask for.
